Funeral services for Jerry Dean Davis of Wesson are 2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 17, at Zion Hill M.B. Church in Wesson, with burial in the church cemetery. Williams Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation is Saturday from 1 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home, with the family present from 6 until 7.
Mrs. Davis, 73, died Feb. 13, 2013 at Haven Hall Health Care Center. She was born in Liberty on Oct. 21, 1939 to George Fox Sr. and Lena Robinson Fox.
She was a graduate of Friendship High School and Utica Junior College. She was a retired CNA at Countrybrook Living Center and also worked at Ed Hyman Garment Factory in Hazlehurst. Mrs. Davis was a member of Zion Hill M.B. Church.
Preceding her in death were her parents; brothers, Dempsey Fox, George Fox, Arrealous Fox and Fred Tucker; sisters, Goldie Webster, Mary Lillie Johnson, Dorothy Rhodes and Lillie V. Williams; and one great-grandchild, Kaleb Isaiah Sanders.
Survivors are her husband, John L. Davis Sr.; sons, Bryon Fox of Barrington, Ohio, John L. Davis Jr. of Wesson and Felix Sandifer of Martinsville; daughters, Gwendolyn Cheryl Sanders and husband, Robert, of Wesson, Rhonda Collins and husband, Kenneth, of Brookhaven, Cheryl Davis of Brookhaven, Ruth Givens and husband, Ernest, of Irving, Texas, and Rolandra Davis of New Orleans; aunt, Goldie Robinson of Jackson; 18 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
