Funeral services for Patricia Ann Florey Smith of Metairie, La. are 10 a.m. on Friday, March 1, at St. Augustine’s Episcopal Church, 3412 Haring Road, Metairie, La., with burial at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church Cemetery in Bogue Chitto at 4 p.m. Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home in Metairie is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Friday from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. at the church.

Mrs. Smith, 80, passed away Feb. 25, 2013. She was born in Longview Texas on Sept. 24, 1932, to Charles Donald Florey and Margaret Read Florey.

She graduated from Longview High School and Kilgore College, where she was a member of the famous Kilgore Rangerettes. She lived in the New Orleans and Metairie area for over 55 years. Mrs. Smith was a longtime member of St. Augustine’s Episcopal Church, where she was a member of the choir and a founding member of Upreach 55. She was a Mary Kay beauty consultant who epitomized youthful essence. Mrs. Smith was also involved in local theater.

Preceding her in death were her parents; beloved husband, Derrell Alfred Smith; and brother, Don Ross Florey. She is survived by her loving sons, Barry Martin Smith and Bruce Alan Smith; sisters, Charlene Florey Dennis and Estelle Florey Carter; and many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Smith was a loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend to all.

She was generous to a fault and lit up any room she entered with her engaging smile.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Augustine’s Episcopal Church.
