Etheland Cormier Ginn

Funeral services for Etheland Cormier Ginn, 90, will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 3, from the chapel of Capps Funeral Home in Tylertown. The Revs. Bendon Ginn and Greg Touchstone will officiate. Mrs. Ginn, a resident of the Golden Living Center in Tylertown, died there on Friday, March 1, 2013.

She was born May 25, 1922, in Tylertown, the daughter of the late Alexander Joseph Cormier and Ollie Brumfield Cormier Helton. She was a homemaker and a member of Union Baptist Church. Mrs. Ginn, a lifelong resident of Walthall County, enjoyed traveling, cooking, gardening and helping others. She also loved her beloved cats, but her greatest love was visiting her friends and her family.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Sedgie V. Ginn; one son, Steven Joseph Ginn; one sister, Elsie Cristina; and two brothers, O’Neal Cormier and Watson L. Cormier.

Mrs. Ginn is survived by two sons, Bendon and wife, Dorothy, Ginn of Brookhaven, and Sedgie V. Ginn Jr. of West Richland, Wash.; one daughter, Mary Ann Ginn Williams of Tylertown; five grandchildren, Maria G. and husband, Don Peters, Melissa G. and husband, Lance Adams, Marc Ginn, Eric Howse and Sedgie V. and wife, Kelli Ginn III; and eight great-grandchildren, Brenden Ginn, Daniel Peters, Lauren Peters, Lindsey Peters, Ethan Nations, Mallory Nations, Anna Caroline Adams and Hayden Adams.

Mrs. Ginn was a godly woman and a faithful Christian who never missed an opportunity to share the love of Christ with others, even her last days. She was a lifelong member of Union Baptist Church where she joyfully and faithfully served God and others.

Burial will be in the Tylertown Cemetery.

Visitation will be Sunday, March 3, 2013, from 1 until service time at 3 p.m. at Capps Funeral Home.

The family would like to thank the staff of Golden Living Center for their kindness and love shown to Mrs. Ginn during her time of residence there.
