The Brookhaven Academy Junior High Cougars defeated the Bowling Green Buccaneers 10-2 on a chilly Friday night of baseball at Harold Williams Ballpark on the campus of Brookhaven Academy. It was a season-opening win for the Cougars (1-0).

Madison Smith led the Cougars with two singles and picked up the victory on the mound in relief of Taylor Freeny who recorded 5 strikeouts in 2 1/3 innings of work.

Fisher Warren and Dylan Winborne also recorded singles for the Cougars.

Andy Bienview had a single for the Buccaneers’ only hit of the night.
