Mrs. Rutledge was united with Rose Hill M.B. Church at an early age and later moved to New Orleans and then to Detroit, where she met and married her husband of 32 years, Melvin Rutledge. She returned to Mississippi in 1995 and reunited with Rose Hill M.B. Church, where she was an active member until her health began to fail.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband; brothers, Charles, Thomas, Luther Jr. and William Franklin; and a sister, Patricia Franklin Washington.

She leaves to cherish fond and loving memories, three sisters, Maxine (Leroy) Banks of New Orleans, Margie Gurley of Houston and Mary Knox of Brookhaven; and a sister-in-law, Annie Pearl Franklin of Brookhaven.

She also leaves to cherish her memory, a loving and devoted cousin with whom she shared a motherly love, Katrina (James) Hawkins; dear friends, Wilhemenia Young and Margaret Henderson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

She will be truly missed by all who loved and cared for her.
