Eva Von Neal Griffith, 88, of Monticello, exchanged this life for Glory on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at her residence in McComb. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 16, at Pleasant Grove Methodist Church in Brookhaven. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Methodist Church Cemetery. Wilson Funeral Home of Monticello is in charge of arrangements. 601-587-2573

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 15, 2013, from 5 until 9 p.m. then from 9 until. 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at Wilson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Griffith was a member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, where she served as treasurer for 19 years. She was a member of the Order of

Eastern Star for over 60 years and had served as Worthy Matron in Ethel Ramsey Chapter No. 230 Mobile, Ala., and Brookhaven Chapter No.1 in Brookhaven. She was Grand Representative to Delaware in Alabama. She also served as Royal Matron in the Order of Amaranth and was a former Mother Advisor of the Order of Rainbow for Girls.

She managed Lady Oris Hosiery in Bel Air Mall, Mobile, Ala., prior to returning to her home state of Mississippi, where she retired from Kux Jewelers in 1990.

All who knew “Ms. Von” will miss her sweet spirit. In recent years, she enjoyed trips to the mountains, gospel music, church and Eastern Star activities and spending time with her family.

Mrs. Von was preceded in death by her parents Walter Neal and Laura Hill

Neal; her husband, Emmett D. Griffith; her brothers, Walter Max Neal and Sidney

H. Neal; her sisters, Helen N. Lambert, Nell N. Britt, Bobbie Ruth N. Reed and Reda Neal; and her nephew, Bruce Neal.

She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Michael and her husband Ken of Monticello; her granddaughter, Kimberly B. Hodges of McComb; her great-grandchildren, Christopher Hodges of Hammond, La., and Whitney H. Campbell and husband Greyson of Summit; her great-great-grandchildren, Addison Grace Campbell and Anna Grey Campbell; and her brothers H.B. Neal and wife Mary of Mobile, Ala., and Richard Neal and wife Sue of Florence.

Pallbearers will be Christopher Hodges, Don Neal, Dock Lambert, Roger Neal, Sid Neal, Paul Boutwell and Alan Blow.
