Visitation for Margaret Ann Pee Jones, retired nurse of Brookhaven, will be held at Riverwood Family Funeral Service on Wednesday, March 20, from noon until 2 p.m., with funeral services at 2 at the funeral home. The Rev. Greg Warnock will officiate. Interment will follow at Easthaven Cemetery in Brookhaven.

     Margaret Jones was born on Feb. 1, 1921, to Clarence T. and Annie Adams Pee of the Shady Grove community (Kosciusko), Attala County. A graduate of Ethel High School and the Gilfoy School of Nursing in Jackson, Margaret worked at Baptist Hospital and in the office of Dr. Van Dyke Hagaman of Jackson.

     She married Jerry Harrison Jones and moved to Brookhaven, where she worked with the Lincoln County Health Department before becoming a mother and devoting her time to caring for her husband and her children. Later, she worked with Dr. Louie Wilkins in Brookhaven until he retired.

     She was president of the Junior Auxilary, president of the Garden Club, active in Peripatetics Club and an active member of First Baptist Church. Margaret directed the church nursery for 25 years. She was a member of Sunday school and WMU. After her retirement from nursing, Mrs. Jones volunteered at King’s Daughters Medical Center for many years.

     She is survived by two daughters, Anne Margaret Dent and husband, Don, of Mill Valley, Calif., and Catherine “Cathy” Louise Davis and husband, Mark, of Brookhaven; four grandchildren, Chesed Anne Dent of Lynchburg, Va., Robert Jared Dent of Wake Forest, N.C., Benjamin Mark Davis of Brookhaven, and Seth Emerson Davis of Fayetteville, Ark.; one sister, Claudette Klaas of Ridgeland; three nephews; and seven nieces.

     Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Harrison Jones; parents, Clarence T. and Annie Adams Pee; one brother Ralph Adams Pee; and three sisters, Dawn Pee, Mary Sue Croft and Carolyn Ray.

     The family wishes to express sincere gratitude to her caretaker Hannah Hill for her companionship and also special thanks to the nursing staff at KDMC.
