Funeral services for Donald Roger Smith of Monticello are 1 p.m. on Monday, March 25, at Riverwood Family Funeral Service, with burial in Wanilla Baptist Church Cemetery in Lawrence County.

Visitation is Monday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Smith, 68, died March 23, 2013, at his home. He was born in Mobile, Ala., on Oct. 17, 1944, to J.W. Smith and Iona Smith Costa.

He was retired from the Brookhaven Walmart, where he was the produce manager. He was of the Baptist faith.

Preceding him in death were his parents; brother, James Smith; and sisters, Diana Franco, Phyllis Wright and Tina Dearman.

Survivors are his wife, Flora Lee Gatlin Smith; daughters, Samantha Parria and husband, Lionel, of Marrero, La., Kim Pennington and husband, Randy, of Sontag, and Amber Helmke and husband, Chris, of Marrero, La.; brothers, William Wiles of Biloxi, Jard “Butch” Wiles of Gulfport, Reggie Smith of Hattiesburg, Dondi Beltram of Richmond, Va., and Greg Costa of San Angelo, Texas; sisters, Sandra Allen of Dallas, Elnora Flowers of Kiln, Bonnie Stone of Dallas and Kim Evans of Purvis; eight grandchildren, Lionel, Joshua and Savannah Parria, of Marrero, La., Jayde Pennington of Sontag, and Christopher, Colby, Carter and Channing Helmke, of Marrero, La.; and two great-grandchildren, Alexis and Drew Parria, of Marrero, La.
