BA hammers Trinity

The Brookhaven Academy Cougars blanked the Trinity Episcopal Saints 15-0 in three innings of baseball action to remain undefeated in district 2AA Monday night.

In Tuesday night action in Natchez, BA hammered the Saints 12-2.

“We hit the ball really well,” said BA coach Casey Edwards. “The guys played really well. This was a great time for us to start getting hot offensively. I hope we can keep it up.”

The Cougars (6-8, 2-0) return to action Saturday to host the Copiah Academy Colonels. Junior varsity action begins at noon, followed by the varsity game at 2.

BA 15, Trinity 0

Senior Tanner Parvin showcased a strong performance on the mound and at the plate for the Cougars. He pitched the win collecting five strikeouts and did not give up a walk.

At the plate, Parvin provided a hot bat to lead BA’s hitting clinic with a home run and two singles. Zach Dickerson, Heath Hickman and J.P. Jackson continued the onslaught with a pair of singles. Gage Posey contributed a double. Alex Smith and Steven Williams hit safely.

“Tanner Parvin was flawless on the mound and led our offense at the plate,” continued Edwards.

Peyton Young suffered the loss for the Saints with no strikeouts and five walks.

Jessie Lasle and Jared Hedrick were the offensive leaders for the Saints with a single apiece.
