Spring merchandise is in and it’s time to shop, shop, shop! Spring Fling 2013 is Saturday, April 6, from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.

Spring Fling is a shopping event where local retailers will offer in-store promotions and sales.

“They (stores) have gotten to the part of spring where everybody has gotten in their new merchandise,” said Brookhaven/Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce Program Director Kay Burton.

The third annual community-wide event will offer 33 local businesses to browse.

“This is the most we’ve had at any shopping event,” said Burton, of the amount of retail participants.

Last year, 20 merchants were involved.

“Last year was a great event, so a lot of other retailers wanted to join in this year,” said Burton.

Thirty-three is the largest number of retailers Brookhaven has had for any shopping event, according to Burton.

Spring Fling is a great opportunity to save money on spring merchandise. Businesses from jewelry and clothing stores to furniture stores and restaurants are involved.

“It gives people a chance to support our local retailers,” said Burton.
