The Loyd Star Lady Hornets shut out visiting East Marion 14-0 in a Tuesday night Region 6-2A softball game. They were led by Hannah Smith who singled, doubled and tripled.

     Loyd Star (10-8, 4-1), coached by Jan Delaughter, hosts Region 6-2A leader Wesson for 2 games tonight, starting with the  junior varsity at 5 p.m.

     Kelsie McCullough was the winning pitcher in the 4-ininng game. She struck out 2 batters and walked none in 2 innings. Makenzie Smith  (2K  0BB) hurled the final 2 frames of the no-hitter.

     Haleigh Smith doubled and singled. Julie Smith had 2  hits for Loyd Star. Alli Gartman and Abigail Thornton singled.

     Megan Norton stole 3 bases for Loyd Star.

 Junior Varsity Results

            In the preliminary JV game, Loyd Star notched a 9-1 victory over the Lady Eagles. Lesley Walker, Lydia Britt and Marley Poole singled for the winners.
