Funeral services for Annie Laura Summerall of Meadville are 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 6, at Franklin Funeral Home in Meadville, with burial in Oak Lawn Cemetery in Wilkinson County.

Visitation is Saturday from 10 until 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Summerall, 84, died April 3, 2013 at Promise Specialty Hospital in Vidalia, La.

Mrs. Summerall enjoyed playing softball, going on vacations and camping with her family. She also enjoyed listening to and watching ballgames. Volunteering at the Meadville Nursing Home was very important to her.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Percy “Red” Summerall; parents, Sidney Nathaniel and Annie Mullins Thornton; a child, Carolin Summerall Ezell; her brothers, Sidney Thornton, Rudy Thornton and an infant brother; and sisters, Bessie Higginbotham, Pearl Holland, Lucille Leonard, Mae Ivey, Earnestine McCartney and infant, Imogene Thornton.

Survivors are her children, Annie Pearl Cox of Bude, Betty Mae Wilkinson and husband, Frank, of Meadville, Vickie Marie Miller and husband, Rayford, of Roxie, David Nathaniel Summerall of Meadville and Dalton Wayne Summerall of Woodville; brother, Herbert Thornton of Meadville; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Clarence Leggett, Jimmy Kelley, James Brown, Rex Sullivan, Jim Ezell and Larry Summerall. Honorary pallbearers are Calvin Foster and Walter Thompson.
