Funeral services for Albert Harper Owen of Fayette are 1 p.m. on Tuesday, April 16, at Stanton Baptist Church, 1303 Highway 61, Natchez, with burial in Fayette Cemetery. Brookhaven Funeral Home on Natchez Drive is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Monday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home and Tuesday from noon until 1 p.m. at the church.

Mr. Owen, 71, died April 13, 2013 at Hospice Ministries of Ridgeland. He was born in the Olenburg community of Franklin County on Sept. 9, 1941 to Walter Alexander Owen and Katherine Torrey Lehmann Owen.

He was a retired schoolteacher and was the former agriculture teacher at Bogue Chitto High School. He was a member of Stanton Baptist Church in Natchez.

Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Norma Jean Holliday Owen; brother, Charles Owen; and sister, Katherine Tucker.

Survivors are his son, Walter A. Owen and wife, Kathy, of El Dorado, Ark.; daughter, Cheryl Arnold and husband, William, of Greenville; five grandchildren, Joshua Owen, Stephen Owen, Victoria Owen, Christopher Arnold and Courtney Arnold; and his nephew, Alan Tucker.
