Funeral services for Gus Laird Jr. of Bogue Chitto are 11 a.m. on Friday, April 19, at Brookhaven Funeral Home on Natchez Drive, with burial in Mt. Zion Church of Christ Cemetery.

Visitation is Thursday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Laird, 78, died April 17, 2013 at Silver Cross Home. He was born on March 6, 1935.

Preceding him in death were his father, Gus Laird Sr. and mother, Lela Case Laird; sisters, Melinda MaHaffey, Bonnie Freeman, Addie Case, Flora Nettles and Nealie McNealey; and brothers, Versie Laird and Lewis Laird.

Survivors are his daughters, Cindy Hall and husband, Phil, of Brookhaven, and Lisa Givens of Brookhaven; son, Ricky Laird of Brookhaven; granddaughters, Tonya Brown, Misty Newman and husband, Billy, Monica Bland and husband, Joey, Cassie Easley and husband, Brian, and Hope Givens; grandsons, Robbie Laird and wife, Rebecca, Wade Hall and Todd Hall and wife, Jennifer; 17 great-grandchildren; and special friend of 22 years, Edna Ruth Smith.
