Cobras escape West Lincoln

Wesson’s Cobras pushed home the winning run in the bottom of the sixth inning Thursday night and escaped West Lincoln’s Cow Palace with a 5-4 victory over the Bears. The game originally was scheduled for Friday.
Mack Smith pitched Wesson’s victory. He struck out 5 batters, walked 1 and scattered 9 hits.
Jared Case (4K, 1BB) gave up 7 hits and absorbed the loss.
At the plate, Alex Smith’s home run and single powered the Cobras as they erased a 4-0 deficit with a 4-run, fourth inning. Bailey Warren singled twice. Taylor Roberts, Brandon Nettles and Cullen Greer singled.
West Lincoln got 2 singles apiece from Lucas Burris, Tyler Moak and Case. Lofton Sills and Bryce Temple doubled as the Bears took a 2-0, lead in the third inning. Alex Neal singled.
Junior Varsity Results
Wesson beat West Lincoln 7-2 in the JV game.
West Lincoln got 2 singles from Chase Buckles. Jeremy Burns, Tanner Boutwell and Sills singled.
