On a cool, drizzly Wednesday afternoon, the Gautier Gators defeated Brookhaven 5-2 in the South State 5A finals on the Brookhill courts. Gautier advances to the state Team Championship, May 1, at the Ridgeland Tennis Center.

Against Gautier, the Ole Brook Panthers got wins from Madison Currie in girls singles and Kim Smalley and Chantel Quarles in No. 1 girls doubles. They will join teammates Braxton Hinton in boys singles, Walker Franck and Ryan Thibodeaux in No. 1 boys doubles, Jessie Henning an Sarah Rice Warren in No. 2 girls doubles and Daniel Clark and Maddie Ogden in mixed doubles as they pursue individual state titles May 2, at the Ridgeland Tennis Center.
