Funeral services for John “Johnnie” Zimmerman of Roxie are 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 9, at Bude Baptist Church, with burial in Midway Cemetery in Meadville. Harrigill Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Wednesday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home and Thursday from 9 until 10 a.m. at the church.

Mr. Zimmerman, 89, died May 6, 2013 at Promise Hospital in Vidalia, La. He was born in Donaldson, Ark. on Feb. 10, 1924 to Andrew Zimmerman and Rose Yerke Zimmerman.

He was a production worker for International Paper Co. in Natchez. Mr. Zimmerman was of the Presbyterian faith and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Preceding him in death were his parents; four brothers; and three sisters.

Survivors are his nephews, Nicholas H. Zimmerman and Steve Andrew Zimmerman, both of Roxie.
