Edd Roland Green

On May 7, 2013, Edd Roland Green was received into the loving arms of our Lord Jesus Christ.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie C. and Anabelle Newby Green, his infant brother, Harry Garland Green, and niece, Bethany LeeAnn Green.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 56 years, Marilyn Flynn Green; his five children and their spouses, Pamela Green Roberts (Mark), Paula Green Holland (Mitchell), David Green (Linda), Diann Green Dyle (William) and Keith Green (Kathy); seven grandchildren, Tyler and Courtney Green, Wesley and Sydney Holland, Fallon Dyle, Haley and Hayden Green; six siblings, Harold Green, Jenny Green Calcote, Helen Green Nunnery, Frances Green Wilson, Gary Green and Gordon Green.

He was a native of Johnson Grove in Lincoln County and a resident of Gautier since 1971. Edd attended Bogue Chitto High School and following graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served for seven years.

Edd worked as an electrical foreman with Ingall’s Shipbuilding and retired in 1993. His passion was coaching baseball and watching his grandchildren play sports. He was a strong man of faith and a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather.

The family would like to thank the nurses and CNAs with Hospice of Light, especially Glenda Lininger, RN, and Shelia Hinton, CAN, and all the rest of the nurse’s aides, and the social worker, Kathy Sudduth.

Services were held on May 9 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Gautier, with visitation from 9 until 11 a.m., with mass at 11 a.m. Interment concluded at Crestlawn Memorial in Ocean Springs.
