City only missing dinner and wine

Dear Editor:

Our family chose to gather in Brookhaven recently for a family event.

We stayed at the Inn on Whitworth, which provided Southern service and hospitality with the essence of a cosmopolitan hotel.

The weather was beautiful as we walked downtown and along sidewalks in the surrounding neighborhoods.

We stopped and watched the trains come through downtown, enjoyed delicious pastries from Janie’s and did some shopping at the specialty shops.

The only thing that seemed to be missing to top off our simply wonderful day was a delectable dinner and accompanied by a glass of wine.

We decided to drive to a neighboring county for dinner. Upon returning home, we spoke of our relaxing and enjoyable time in Brookhaven.

Each time we told our story the question was asked, “Where did you eat?” We had to admit we left town to eat.

Brookhaven is truly a gem, only missing dinner and a glass of wine.
