Editor’s Note: Today, The Daily Leader continues publication of area high school valedictorian and salutatorian graduation speeches. The following address is from Bogue Chitto Attendance Center Valedictorian Adrienne Wallace.

To the class of 2013: It has been said that what lies behind us and what lies before us are only tiny matters compared to what lies within us. Many people are responsible for the characteristics that lie within us.

I want to say thank you to my parents and other family members for encouraging me to always do my best and supporting me. Thanks to my friends for always being there for me.

A special thanks to all the faculty and staff of Bogue Chitto for helping us prepare for the next chapter of our lives. Thank you Coach Myers for standing by us from the beginning and for your dedication to Bogue Chitto.

I am thankful to God for all the opportunities and blessings I have had at Bogue Chitto. We have created so many memories throughout the years.

From nap times to the “Great Senior Stakeout,” it has been an amazing journey.

Great expectations have been set for each of us. Live up to the challenge. We have learned many valuable lessons. Take this knowledge with you into your future. Cherish this moment and continue to strive to be your best.

Always remember what lies within you will be what drives you to be successful in life. I am thankful for the many memories I have made with all of you!

Congratulations, class of 2013!
