Charles C. Spring

Funeral services for Charles C. Spring of McCall Creek were 3 p.m. on Sunday, June 30, at Mt. Gilead Primitive Baptist Church, with burial in the church cemetery. Elder Luke Addison officiated.

Mr. Spring, 64, passed away Friday, June 28, 2013 at the Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. He was born Dec. 30, 1948 in Franklin County to Claude D. Spring and Lorrayne Arnold Spring.

Mr. Spring had worked many years for Southern Welding Supply in Brookhaven. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved sports, more especially the New Orleans Saints, the Atlanta Braves and the Ole Miss Rebels, and was an avid bluegrass music lover. Mr. Spring was a U.S. Army Veteran, having served our great country during the Vietnam War. He attended Mt. Gilead Primitive Baptist Church in Franklin County.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude D. and Lorrayne A. Spring, and one sister, Elizabeth Ann Spring.

Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Linda J. Spring of McCall Creek; one son, Curtis D. Spring and wife, Robin, of McComb; one daughter, Amanda C. Spring of McCall Creek; one brother, Gary A. Spring and wife, Peggy, of Smithdale; three sisters, Betty Roberts and husband, Tommy, of Smithdale, Shirley Meteer and husband, Bob, of Union Church, and Patty Wells of Smithdale; two grandchildren, Paige Smith and Drew Smith of McComb; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Pallbearers will be Wade Roberts, Greg Roberts, Jimmy Roberts, Robbie Meteer, Ashton Spring and Chris Smith.

Honorary Pallbearers are Richard Cummins, Doug Case and A. J. Spring.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made in Mr. Spring’s name to the church: Mt. Gilead Primitive Baptist Church, Attn: Mr. Steven Pearson, Treasurer; Post Office Box 697 Summit, MS 39667.
