Lincoln Co. AAA teams enter subdistrict tourney

The Lincoln County Dixie Youth Baseball AAA All-Star teams begin playoff action Friday in the North Subdistrict Six double-elimination tournament on Copiah Academy’s field in Gallman. The 9-10-year-old National and American All-Stars begin their march toward the State Tournament in Magee, starting July 19.
The Subdistrict tournament will include the Lincoln County Americans and Nationals, the Franklin County All-Stars and the Copiah County All-Stars fighting hard to claim the No. 1 spot to advance to the District Six Tournament best-of-three series and a automatic spot in the State Tournament
The Lincoln County Nationals kick off the tournament in the opener against the Franklin County All-Stars at 6 p.m. and the Lincoln County Americans battle Copiah County in the nightcap at 8 p.m.
Members of the Lincoln County AAA All-Stars are:
American League: Tyler Fortenberry, Dylan Carter, Jon Albritton, Luke Davis, Piker Wallace, Piker Ratliff, Dylan Reeves, Jermario Hersey, Jacob Smith, Gage Brown, Jackson Carter, Colin Waldrop. Assistant Coaches: Bill Albritton, Chip Carter. Head Coach: Hugh Fortenberry.
National League: Landon Banes, Judson Griffin, Matthew Burns, Dakota Willard, Manny Miller, Chase White, August Sullivan, Trace Brady, Dramarian McNulty, Will Mayfield, Dawson Hester. Assistant Coaches: Jimmy White, Robert Mayfield. Head Coach: Reagan Allen.
Lincoln AA At Home
The Lincoln County Dixie Youth AA Coach/Pitch American League All-Stars, fresh from winning the North Subdistrict Six Tournament, host Walthall County tonight at 6 p.m. at Keystone Park in a best-of-three series to determine the district champion. Game 2 starts at 2 p.m. Saturday. If Game 3 is necessary, it will be played at 4 p.m.
Both the Americans and Walthall have qualified for the state tournament, which begins July 12, at Pascagoula. The Americans, coached by Blake Wallace, eliminated in the Lincoln County Nationals 12-5 in the subdistrict finals.
