BUDE – The Lincoln County American League All-Stars continued their domination of the Dixie Youth Baseball AAA North Subdistrict Six Tournament Monday night, shutting out the Natchez All-Stars 14-zip on Leroy “Cowboy” Jones Memorial Field.

     The Americans won twice at Gloster earlier in the tournament, beating Copiah County 11-1 and Pine Hills 5-0. They play once-beaten Franklin County tonight at 8 as the double-elimination tournament continues.

     Natchez plays Pine Hills at 6 p.m. in an elimination game.

 AL 14, Natchez 0

     Winning pitcher Dane Smith and reliever Rials Hester combined talented in the 4-inning shutout. Smith struck out 8 batters and walked 1 in three innings. Hester tossed 1 inning and fanned 1 batter.

     At the plate, Clint Stephens and Kline Foster homered for Lincoln County. Landon Gartman singled twice. Smith, Stephens, Hester and Brent Cade doubled.

     Singles were provided by Cade, James Beard, Krishawn Jackson and Landon Lynch.

 AL 5, Pine Hills 0

     Gartman authored a 14-strikeout shutout against the host team at Gloster.

     At the plate, Jackson and Stephens doubled. Gartman, Cade and Beard singled.

 AL 11, Copiah 1

     Dane Smith fanned 5 batters in the win over Copiah.

     The Americans got home runs from Smith, Foster and Hester.

     Stephens, Jackson and Peyton Jergins doubled.. Gartman singled twice.

     Singles were collected by Beard, Smith, Stephens and Cade.
