Mayor Joe Cox holds the certificate awarded to the city of Brookhaven naming it one of Mississippi’s “Healthy Hometowns.” Leading the committee to achieve such recognition was Alderman at Large Karen Sullivan who gave thanks to all those involved with the achievement during Tuesday night’s board meeting. Brookhaven will receive a $25,000 grant from Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Mississippi to further promote healthy initiatives because of the award.
