AL 8s in World Series

WEST MONROE, La. – The Lincoln County American League All-Stars will play three games Saturday in the Dixie Youth Baseball AA 8s Coach/Pitch Region III World Series. They meet Livingston, Texas at 9:30 a.m., followed by a rematch with the Pascagoula Reds at 12:30 p.m. and an 8 p.m. game against Manchester, Ga.
Each team is guaranteed five tournament games. Lincoln County will play two games on Sunday.
“Our kids are excited and they’re ready to play,” said American League coach Blake Wallace. “They all need to hit the ball.”
Assisting Wallace are Coaches Dustin Stewart, Shane Easterling and Delanyne Moak.
American League players are John Patrick Wallace, Payne Waldrop, Parker Moak, Carter Holcomb, Mason Davis, Trevor Fortenberry, Trenton Tarver, Riley Easterling, Jacob Rushing, Peyton Prather, Peyton Reed and Rayce Stewart.
The World Series will have its opening round ceremony night, featuring the introduction of each team. Also in the Lincoln County Bracket B are teams from Winnsboro, Texas and the Shreveport Americans.
Lincoln County was the No. 4 seed out of the state tournament at Pascagoula. Hattiesburg was runner-up and Moss Point was No. 3.
