Funeral services for Kathy Pappas Smith of Brookhaven are 2 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 5, at Riverwood Family Funeral Service, with burial in Riverwood Memorial Park.

Visitation is Sunday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Smith, 64, died July 31, 2013 at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. She was born in Gary, Ind. on Nov. 19, 1949 to Thomas Emmanuel Gus Pappas and Olga Young Pappas.

She was the retired owner of Kathy’s Upholstery. Mrs. Smith was a Master Upholster and a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was of the Baptist faith.

Preceding her in death were her husband of 45-plus years, Edward “Ed” Smith, parents, and sister, Sandra Johnson.

Survivors are her son, James Edward Smith and wife, Carol; daughter Michelle Caves and husband, Kevin; son, Jason Edward Smith and wife, Tiffany; sister, Georgia Moak and husband, David; sister, Connie Boutwell and husband, Gary; brother, Mike Pappas and wife, Regina; sister, Daphene Tankersley; sister, Dorothy Humeau; and five grandchildren, Brittany and Ryan Smith, Cody Caves, and Daria and Dawson Smith.
