Wesson surpasses South Pike

MAGNOLIA – The undefeated Wesson Lady Cobras secured a big 19-10 victory over the South Pike Lady Eagles Thursday night in slowpitch softball action.

The Lady Cobras (4-0) return home to host the Bogue Chitto Lady Cats Tuesday. Junior varsity begins at 5 p.m. followed by the varsity at 6.

Wesson and South Pike battled in a seesaw contest in the first three innings as the Lady Cobras secured a 6-5 lead.

Wesson outscored the Lady Eagles 13-5 through the remainder on the game.

Cheyenne Gladden pitched the win for the Lady Cobras.

Bailey Middleton directed the offensive onslaught for Wesson with a triple and a single. Sarah Robinson and Harmoni Ashley contributed a double and a single each. Kaitlyn Smith hit two singles. Sabria Green had a triple. Hitting safely were Amber Brinson, Anna Speights, Hailey Chassion, Aurianna Vaughn and Gladden.

In JV action, Wesson hammers South Pike 12-6.

Gladden was the offensive leader for the Lady Cobras with a double and two singles. Rahie Westbrook provided a triple and a double. Sabria Green ripped a triple and a single. Mary Beth Munn had a double and Maddy Jones hit safely.
