Graveside services for Scottie Dean Rains of Brookhaven are 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 31, at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery. Riverwood Family Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Saturday from 9 until 11 a.m. at the church.

Mr. Rains, 59, died Aug. 27, 2013 in Brookhaven. He was born in Arkansas on June 15, 1954 to Charles Emerson Rains and Bonnie Jewel Jones Rains.

He was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church and served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam.

Preceding him in death were his wife, Laurie Jean Barker Rains, parents and several brothers and sisters.

Survivors are his sons, Timothy Wayne Abbott and wife, Katie, Charles Coty Rains and wife, Brandi, Buck Rains, Billy Joseph Rains and wife, Carlie, and James Scottie Rains and wife, Krystal; daughters, Nonie Allissa Williams and husband, Timothy, and Sarah Nicole Case and husband, Jamie; 12 grandchildren, Jaymie Rains, Brooklyn Rains, Rachel Abbott, Chandler Abbott, Cammy Martin, Christy Martin, Miley Adams, Jayden Rains, Lorelai Case, Logan Case, Lailin Case and Leighla Rains; and a host of brothers and sisters, and nieces and nephews.
