The Brookhaven Lady Panthers climbed back into the win column with an 11-6 triumph over the Franklin County Lady Bulldogs Thursday night in slowpitch softball action at Ole Brook’s Softball Complex.

The Lady Panthers (7-6, 3-0) resume action Tuesday. They invade Jackson to battle the Forest Hill Lady Patriots in a district contest. Junior varsity begins at 5 p.m., followed by the varsity game at 6.

The Lady Bulldogs, coached by Dana Smith, return home to host the West Lincoln Lady Bears. Junior varsity begins at 5:30 p.m., followed by the varsity game at 7.

Brookhaven 11, Franklin Co. 6

The Lady Panthers came out strong and gained a 10-4 advantage over the Lady Bulldogs in four innings of action to claim the win.

Alycen Speaks was the winning pitcher for Ole Brook with one strikeout and 7 walks.

Shelly Case suffered the loss for Franklin County with no strikeouts and four walks.

Katherine Shell and Jada Henderson provided the offensive spark to lead the Lady Panthers with a home run and a single apiece. Julianna Porter fueled the flames with three singles. Danielle Battiest contributed a double and a single. Tia Bussey ripped a pair of singles. Hitting safely were Haley Speaks, Cheyenne Motley and Kat Wallace.

Sierra Bethley paced the Lady Bulldogs’ offense with a home run. Macy Bradham helped with four singles. Emilee Wallace had a double and a single. Hayle McKinney provided two singles. Jamecia Starks, Jaishia Bethley and Cheyenne Higgs hit safely.

In JV action,  Brookhaven edged Franklin County 5-4.

Religh Allen pitched the win for BHS with four strikeouts and four walks.

Kat Wallace directed the Lady Panthers’ offense with two singles. Kennedy Spiller, Madison Thompson, Motley, Bussey and Henderson hit safely.

The Lady Bulldogs were led on offense with a single apiece from Sophie Cothern, Sydney Scott, Claire Quinn, Timara Mackey, Tah Thompson and Emilee Wallace.
