North Pike cruises past Purvis

PURVIS – The North Pike Lady Jaguars conducted a hitting clinic and pounded the Purvis Lady Tornados 15-4 Thursday night in slowpitch softball action.

The Lady Jags (6-1) continue their road tour Tuesday when visit Brandon to battle the Brandon Lady Bulldogs. Junior varsity begins at 5 p.m., followed by the varsity game at 6.

Whitney Howell pitched the win for North Pike with no strikeouts and one walk.

Kennedy Hudson suffered the loss for the Lady Wolves with one strikeout and no walks.

Madison Bigner provided the offensive charge to lead the Lady Jags with two home runs and a single. Lauren Wells continued the onslaught with a home run, a double and a single. McKenzie Brock helped with three singles. Rickera Martin had a double and a single. Danaraye Parks provided a pair of singles. Sarah Brock doubled, and Jana McEwen singled.

Morgan Fellows and Marisa Bounds were the offensive leaders for the Lady Tornados with two singles apiece. Hitting safely were Madison Morgan, Donna Slade, Reilly Holcomb and Carrigan Arban.

In JV action, North Pike sailed past Purvis 8-1.

Baylee Bryant directed the Lady Jags (3-1-1) at the plate with a triple. Katlyn Simpson, Janiah Talbert, Mary Kate Bates and Jenna Brock hit safely.
