Puckett exterminates Jackets

The undefeated Puckett Wolves provided an offensive show at Harry Cole Field Friday night. The Wolves blanked the Enterprise Yellow Jackets in 46-0 Region 2A football action.

“I’m very proud of our guys’ effort,” said Enterprise coach Brooks Burns. “They fought hard and did not give up. Puckett has a very good physical team. They have about 26 players that are seniors and juniors who can line up and play.”

The Wolves strong defense held the Jackets to 54 yards of total offense.

Senior running back Jackson Cole was the top offensive leader for Enterprise with 37 yards rushing on 16 carries. He also caught one pass for eight yards.

Cole also led the Jackets’ defense with nine tackles. Layne Brown contributed five stops.

Tristan Cantrell recovered a fumble for Enterprise. Cole provided a strong leg for the Jackets special teams. He averaged 48 yards on six punts.

The Jackets (0-2) visit Walnut Grove, Friday night to battle the Leake County Gators (1-1). Kickoff is at 7 p.m.
