Billy J. Criswell, a loving brother, husband, daddy, grandfather and great-grandfather, went on to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on Sept. 10, 2013. He was born on April 20, 1931 to the late Clarence and Mary Ozelle Mauney Criswell.

He will be missed by his wife of 46 years, Linda Dabbs Criswell; sons, Bobby Dale Criswell and wife, Teresa, of San Antonio, Mickey Welch and Todd Welch and wife, Cristi, of Vidalia, La., and Richard Criswell and wife, Corre, of Monroe, La.; daughter, Sandy Terry and husband, Donald; brother, Wayne Criswell and wife, Betty, of Loyd Star; sister, Cathy Criswell Grove of Bellwood, Pa.; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

We are thankful for his life and for the love, kindness and mercy he showed to his family and others he met along his journey here on planet Earth. We will meet again as believers in Jesus.

Visitation is Friday, Sept. 13, from 10 a.m. until noon at Brookhaven Funeral Home on Natchez Drive. Services are noon at the funeral home, with burial in Criswell Family Cemetery off of Highway 550.
