West Lincoln roars past Pisgah

SANDHILL – The West Lincoln Lady Bears thumped the Pisgah Lady Dragons 9-1 to open their Region 2A race with a win Thursday night in slowpitch softball action.

The Lady Bears (9-4-1, 1-0) return home to host the Bogue Chitto Lady Cats Monday. Junior varsity begins at 5 p.m., followed by the varsity game at 6.

The Lady Bears came out strong in their first debut in the Region 2A race to set the tone of the game after grabbing a 4-1 lead in two innings of action.

West Lincoln continued to dominate the Lady Dragons and increased their lead to 9-1 by the fifth inning for the win.

Heather Moak was the winning pitcher for the Lady Bears with four strikeouts and two walks.

Britney Shoemake took the loss for Pisgah with three strikeouts and one walk.

Destiny Allen and Heather Moak led the offensive charge for West Lincoln with a home run and single apiece. Malori Hall continued the onslaught with two singles. Hitting safely were Micah Redd, Hanna Moak, Brianna Fauver and Alli Mullins.

Jennifer Luckett paced the Lady Dragons with two singles. Olivia Lampkin and Sam Cole hit safely.

In JV action,West Lincoln blanked Pisgah 6-0.

Addie Springs, Brittney Hill and Anna Brooke Davis were the offensive leaders for the Lady Bears with a double and a single apiece. Millane Lewis, Cadie Maxwell and Katelyn Travis provided a single each.
