The Brookhaven Lady Panthers pounded the Murrah Lady Mustangs 12-0 Tuesday night in a varsity game to stay undefeated in the Region 5-5A/6A race in slowpitch softball action.

“It was good to get the district win,” said BHS coach Chad Walker. “The girls played great defensively. Offensively, it took us a little while to get our bats going, but we managed to get the job done.”

The Lady Panthers (10-6, 5-0) resume action Thursday. They host their archrival, the Lawrence County Lady Cougars, in a non-divisional contest. Junior varsity begins at 5 p.m., followed by the varsity game at 6.
