Bassfield overpowers West Lincoln

BASSFIELD – The defending 2A state champions Bassfield Yellowjackets showed off their talented athletes on offense and defense Friday night to blank the West Lincoln Bears 63-0 in Region 7-2A football action.
The Yellowjackets’ powerful defense held the Bears to 70 yards of total offense.
Senior quarterback Jonah King was the offensive leader for West Lincoln, completing three-of-nine passes for 30 yards.
The Bears rushing attacked mustarded up 40 yards on the ground on 31 carries. Sloan led West Lincoln with three rushes for 25 yards. Bryce Temple had eight rushes for 10 yards.
Temple was the top receiver for the Bears with two catches for 26 yards.
Defensively, Jayden Rushing and Ty Forman were the top hitters for the Bears.
West Lincoln (1-5, 0-1) invades Liberty to tangle with Amite County Trojans for more Region 7-2A action Friday night. Kickoff is at 7 p.m.
