The East Marion Eagles used their athletic talents to overpower the West Lincoln Bears, claiming a 58-0 shutout Friday night in Region 7-2A football action at Perry Miller Field.

The Bears could only muster up 222 yards total offense against the Eagles’ high-octane defense.

West Lincoln running back Javian MacKabee rushed 17 times for 76 yards.

Senior halfback Sloan Nations gathered 33 rushing yards on four carries. He also caught a pass for 45 yards.

Junior Bryce Temple contributed 43 rushing yards on 11 carries and had one reception for 25 yards.

Defensively, Kodie Carroll paced the Bears with nine tackles. Jayden Rushing and Tyler Moak contributed six stops apiece.

The Bears (1-7, 0-3) visit their Lincoln County and new region rivals, the Enterprise Yellow Jackets (0-8, 0-3) next Friday. East Marion returns home to entertain the Amite County Trojans. Kickoff is at 7 p.m.
