The Loyd Star Hornets defeated the Green Wave of Natchez Cathedral 29-7 in Thursday night junior high action, led by Patrick Price with 19 points. Cathedral won the junior high girls game 26-7.

The Hornets got 5 points from Cade Hodges. Zavin Price and Terrance Fields added two points each.

In girls action, the Lady Hornets were led by Katie West’s three points. Julecea Smith and Johnna Norman provided 2 points apiece.

Caroline Kaiser pumped in a game-high 11 points to lead the Green Wave. Semaj Hickingbottom contributed 6 points.

Loyd Star’s junior high action continues Tuesday. The Hornets and Lady Hornets visit Enterprise for four games. Game time starts with the seventh grade girls at 4 p.m., followed by the boys.

The junior high girls tip off at 6 p.m., followed by the boys at 7.
