Funeral services for James “Rayford” Nettles of Brookhaven are 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 8, at Riverwood Family Funeral Service with burial in the Gum Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

Riverwood Family Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Thursday from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Nettles, 80, passed away on Nov. 5, 2013 at his residence. He was born on Feb. 26, 1933 to Harvy Allen and Mary Wactor Nettles. He was a retired self-employed painter and he was a member of Gum Grove Baptist Church.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Harvy Allen Nettles and Mary Wactor Nettles; son, Malcom Tony Nettles; brothers, Charles Nettles and Floyd “Buddy” Nettles; and sisters, Doris Lucille Rayborn, Mildred Nations and Katie O’Neal.

Mr. Nettles is survived by his wife, Joyce Johnson Nettles; son, Eric Nettles, and wife Tawana; and two grandchildren, Erica “Rena” Nettles and Kevin Ray Nettles.
