BSW sweeps Patriots

The Brookhaven Southern Wildcats captured three victories over the Open Arm Patriots in TNT Youth Football League action last Saturday in Jackson.

Brookhaven defeated Open Arm 12-8 in the 11-12-year-old game. The Wildcats crushed the Patriots 20-0 in the 9-10 year-old game. In 7-8 year-old action, BSW blanked Open Arm 26-0.

The Wildcats played again yesterday for the opening round of the playoffs at Southwest Junior College.

BSW 12, Patriots 8

Jamie Finley was the offensive leader for the Wildcats with 125 yards rushing. He scored a rushing touchdown on a 40-yard sprint

Byrion Robinson also scored a touchdown for Brookhaven on a 10-yard scramble.

Defensively, Michael Jenkins, Michael Brotherns and ManMan Smith were the top hitters for BSE with four tackles apiece.

BSW 20, Patriots 0

Daetyn Davis paced the Wildcats’ offense with 130 yards rushing and one touchdown on a 65-yard stampede.

Darius Robinson got into the scoring fun for Brookhaven with 25- and 10-yard runs to pay dirt.

Defensively, Dominique Smith directed the charge for Brookhaven with five tackles. Robinson contributed four stops.

BSW 26, Patriots 0

The Wildcats provided an offensive scoring spree against Open Arm as several Brookhaven players scored touchdowns.

Kenneth Dixon punched in two touchdowns on carries for 40 and 25 yards. Jeremiah Bracey cashed in a 40-yard touchdown. A.J. Brown ran for a 60-yard rushing touchdown and Tyrone Jones scrambled in for a 30-yard touchdown and rushed in a two-point conversion.

Defensively, Tyeland Coleman had a monstrous game for Brookhaven with eight tackles. Nathan Brown provided three stops. Tyrone Jones and Kermit Sartin had two tackles apiece.
