Funeral services Cade Lincoln Burr Jr. are 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 22, at Concord Baptist Church, Franklin County. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with full military honors. Brookhaven Funeral Home, 894 Natchez Drive, is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation will be Thursday from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Visitation will resume at the church Friday from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m.

Mr. Burr, 79, a resident of Longview, Texas, passed away at his home on Nov. 18, 2013. He was born Oct. 21, 1934, in Smithdale to the late Cade Lincoln Burr Sr. and Sarah Lena Chisholm Burr Gregory.

Mr. Burr was a retired Boilermaker and was of Baptist faith. He was a Mason and served in the U.S. Army and the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict.

Mr. Burr was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Cecil Levohn Burr and James Lyle Burr.

Mr. Burr is also survived by his faithful companion and best friend for over eight years, Joanie Forga of Longview, Texas; four sons, William Michael Burr of Mandevillle, La; Glynn Edwin Burr of Murfreesboro, Tenn., Douglas Joseph Burr of New Orleans, La., and Brandon Hiram Burr of Allentown, Pa; three daughters, Catherine Ann Pugh of Metairie, La.; Patricia Ann Burr of Metairie, La., and Lynn Ann Bogac of LaPlace, La.; four brothers, Joe Lene Burr of Canton, Richard Leon Burr of Mandeville, La., Marvin Louis Burr of Rome, Ga., and Michael Leonard Burr of Eclectic, Ala.; two sisters, Sarah Lena Burr Gantt of Lake Charles, La., and Sandra Dee Bardwell of Farmington, N.M.; 15 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
