Co-Lin’s Steverson named MACJC Player of the Week

WESSON – Copiah-Lincoln sophomore guard Chris Steverson has been selected as the MACJC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week. Steverson, a product of Wingfield High School, scored 35 points and shot 9-for-10 from behind the 3-point line in Co-Lin’s 86-77 victory over Delgado on Nov. 14. Steverson was 11-of-15 from the field in 31 minutes of action and also led the team with six rebounds.

On Monday, Nov. 11, Steverson led the Wolves in scoring when he tallied 15 points in a 56-49 loss at Baton Rouge CC. For the week, Steverson averaged 25 points, 4.5 rebounds, 1.0 assist, and 1.5 steals per game. He averaged 30 minutes player her game and shot 12-for-17 from the 3-point line for the week.

Steverson leads Co-Lin (1-3) for the season with a 19 point per game scoring average. He is also the leader in rebounds per game with a 5.5 average. Steverson and the Wolves resume action today, when they travel to Mobile, Ala., to take on the Bishop State Wildcats. The women tip at 5:30 p.m. with the men’s game to follow.
