West Lincoln splits with Cathedral

The West Lincoln junior high basketball teams split a pair of games against the Natchez Cathedral Green Wave on Thursday night at Jack Case Gymnasium.

The Cathedral Lady Green Waves built a 15-9 lead at halftime and held on for a 28-16 win over the Lady Bears. Baylee Geaning led the way for Cathedral with eight points, while Paige Rentfro added seven points. Jana Case was the leading scorer for West Lincoln with 10 points.

The Bears rushed out to a 25-5 advantage at halftime and cruised to a 43-12 victory over the Green Wave. Adam Martinez led West Lincoln with 10 points. Donterrius Taylor chipped in nine points and LeDarrius Jones added eight points for West Lincoln. Conner Murray and Tyrick Lee led Cathedral with three points apiece.

West Lincoln is off now until after Thanksgiving. The Bears will resume play on Tuesday, Dec. 3, at Bogue Chitto. Junior high games will be at 4 p.m. and 5 p.m., followed by a pair of varsity games at 6 and 7:30 p.m.
