Funeral services for Lonnie B. Dixon Sr. of Brookhaven are 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7, at Macedonia M.B. Church of Brookhaven with burial in Hillcrest Cemetery. Williams Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Friday from 1 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Dixon, 90, died Dec. 2, 2013, at G.V. “Sonny” Montgomery VA Medical Center, Jackson. He was born to Julius Dixon and Annie McCall Dixon on Aug. 22, 1923.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Oteal Dixon; five sisters; six brothers; and two grandchildren.

Survivors are: two daughters, Ora (Dr. Isiac) Jackson, Canton and Frances (the Rev. Jerry) Durr; three sons, Lonnie B. (Mary Alice) Dixon Jr., and John L. Dixon; two brothers, Robert Earl (Artoria) Dixon Sr. and Melvin Dixon, Los Angeles; two sisters, Lucretia (Charles) Newton and Edith Beasley; his uncle, Willie (Allie Mae) Humphries; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
