Enterprise 44, Sacred Heart 43

A back-and-forth contest that went down to the wire went in Enterprise’s favor Friday night as the Lady Jackets escaped Sacred Heart with the win.

Missed free-throws and missed defensive assignments down the stretch came back to burn Sacred Heart as the Lady Jackets capitalized on their mistakes to claim the victory.

Both teams were knotted at 19 apiece at halftime.

Senior Kristin Jergins’ 11 points in the fourth quarter alone and a game-high 23 points overall powered Enterprise (7-7). Markie Case added 8 points for the Lady Jackets.

Sacred Heart was led by Maria Enger’s 11 points. Ann-Louise Whitehead chipped in 10 points for the Lady Crusaders in the loss.

Sacred Heart 53, Enterprise 47

The injury bug continues to be the Achilles heel for the Enterprise boys. Already without starting guards John Gray and Nathan Lambert, Enterprise dropped a road decision to the Sacred Heart Crusaders 53-47 on Friday night.

In the process, Enterprise lost another starting wing player, Dwyane Pendleton, to injury midway through the second quarter. Enterprise (7-7), was unable to recover and trailed 30-21 going into the halftime break.

The Crusaders outscored Enterprise 12-6 in the third quarter to gain a 42-27 advantage going into the fourth quarter.

A late Enterprise run came up short as the Jackets lost their sixth straight game.

“It’s hard to win on the road when you miss 12 free throws”, said Enterprise coach John Knight. “I’m proud of the kids that stepped up and had to play due to the circumstances.”

Forrest Scott fired in 19 points to lead Enterprise.

Lorenzo Catlett’s 16 points and Sam Rosa’s 12 points directed the Crusaders to their third win of the season.

In junior high action,  the Enterprise Lady Jackets defeated Sacred Heart 46-23.

Karlee Burgess led the Lady Jackets in scoring with 21 points. Haley Nations and Monisha Pendleton added five points apiece for Enterprise.

Sacred Heart was paced by Blair Viator’s six points.

In the junior high boys’ game, Sacred Heart thumped Enterprise 50-42.

Jontavious Smith fired in 16 points for the Jackets in the loss.

Cade Feltus and Hunter Bland added 6 points apiece for the Crusaders.
