Funeral services for Marion O. Rayburn of Ruth are 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, at Powell’s Grove Pentecostal Church. Graveside service will follow at Providence Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Ronnie Tuner will officiate the services. Catchings Funeral Home (Summit location) is handling the arrangements.

Visitation is Friday, Dec. 27, from 5 until 9 p.m. at Powell’s Grove Pentecostal Church in Jayess and will continue on Saturday from 1 until 2 p.m.

Mrs. Rayburn, 82, died Dec. 24, 2013, at her residence. She was born March 14, 1931, in Brownsville, Texas to John Franklin and Lillian Davidson Clifton. She was a member of Powell’s Grove Pentecostal Church. She was an avid painter, loved to work in her yard, to go camping, and to go fishing. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Carl Rayburn Jr.; grandson, Joseph Rayburn; great-grandson, Destin Rayburn; granddaughter, Jeslyn Rayburn; and a great-granddaughter, Lanie Babin.

Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Carl Rayburn; daughters, Marion Rayburn Olivier and husband, Johnny, Vickie Rayburn Turner and husband, Herbert, and Tammie Rayburn Babin, all of Ruth; sons, Douglas Rayburn and wife, Jere Sue, Larry Rayburn and wife, Florence and Gary Rayburn, all of Jayess; sister, Daisy Clifton Hermas of Victoria, Texas; brother, John Franklin Clifton Jr. and wife, Virginia of San Antonia, Texas; 22 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
