Enterprise splits with Raleigh

RALEIGH – The Raleigh Lions and the Enterprise Lady Yellow Jackets kicked off the new year with a split Friday night in basketball action.
In the girls’ game, the Lady Jackets stung the Lady Lions 41-30.
In boys’ action, the Lions clobbered the Jackets 67-40.
Enterprise will return to action Tuesday as they prepare to host Bassfield for their first district test in a battle of yellow jackets. The junior varsity girls will tip off the action at 5 p.m. The varsity girls are set to start at 6 p.m., followed by the boys.
Enterprise 41, Raleigh 30
The Lady Jackets managed to overcome a sluggish first half as they trailed the Lady Lions 16-15 at the half and outscored Raleigh 26-14 in the second half to secure the win.
Junior forward Megan Rippy was the offensive leader for the Lady Jackets with 15 points. Alissa Barlow contributed eight points.
Moriah Williamson paced the Lady Lions with 12 points.
Raleigh 67, Enterprise 40
The Raleigh Lions provided too much firepower for Enterprise to overcome as the Jackets were without several key starters due to injuries.
In the first half, Raleigh stormed out to an 33-12 halftime and continued to roll in the second half by outscoring the Jacket 34-28.
Tiberious Ellis pumped in a game-high 22 points to lead the Lions.
Forrest Scott was the top scorer for the Jackets with 16 points. Patrick Scott added eight points.
In junior varsity boys’ action, Enterprise defeated Raleigh 21-19.
Patrick Jackets paced the Jackets with seven points.
