Meredith E. ‘Bud’ Smith

Graveside services for Meredith E. “Bud” Smith of Baton Rouge are 1 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 6, at Easthaven Cemetery. Seale Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Smith, 91, died Jan. 3, 2014, at Grace Rehab and Health Center in Slaughter. He was born in Oil City, La., on Jan. 28, 1922, to John J. and Carrie Holtz Smith.

He was a retired from Exxon Pipeline Co. He was a veteran of World War II in the 101st Airborne Screaming Eagles. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dorothy Case Smith; two grandsons, David Case and Paul Case; and three sisters, Leona Dailey, Ethel Leyva and Edith Franklin.

He is survived by his daughter, Linda Smith Case and husband, James; two great-grandsons, Dillon Case and Brice Case, and two sisters, Sylvia Reid and Rosmerie Fulgium.
