Funeral services for Robert S. Scott Sr., of Roxie, are 12 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 17, 2014, at Bude Church of God with burial in Greendale United Methodist Church Cemetery. Franklin Family Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation is Thursday, Jan. 16, 2014, from 5 until 9 p.m. and continues Friday, Jan. 17, 2014, at 10 a.m. until the time of the service at Bude Church of God.
Pallbearers are Matthew Scott, Christopher Scott, Eric Rollins, Chris Smith, Justin Ezell, Jordan Anderson, William Harrigill, Justin Case and Darren Colenburg.
Mr. Scott, 75, died Monday, Jan. 13, 2014, at King’s Daughters Medical Center. He was born in Jefferson County on March 14, 1938, to William Emmett and Neta Coleman Scott.
He was retired from Arco Oil and Gas Co. where he worked for many years as a lead mechanic. He was a lifelong farmer and enjoyed mechanical work. He also served in the Mississippi National Guard. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a member of Bude Church of God.
Preceding him in death were his parents and brothers, William Emmett Scott Jr., Wayne Lamar Scott and Virgil Everett Scott.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mae Watson Scott, of Roxie; daughters Debra Scott Applewhite, and husband, Art, of Wiggins and Betty Sue Scott Ezell, and husband, Rickey, of Roxie; son, Robert S. Scott Jr., and wife, Rebecca, of Roxie; sister, Leta Mae Scott Barlow, of out of state; grandchildren Christy Anderson, Eric Rollins, Amy Smith, Justin Ezell, Kelsey Ezell, Christopher Scott, Matthew Scott, Summer A. Bondurant and Glen Applewhite; great-grandchildren Jackson Anderson, Tristin Rollins, Fisher Rollins, Payln Mae Smith, Megan Ezell, Cole Ezell, Caden Bondurant, Evan John Bondurant, Kayleigh Applewhite and Gavin Applewhite; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
