Funeral services for Neal Lewis of Brookhaven are 11 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 20, 2014, at Macedonia Baptist Church with burial in Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery. Brookhaven Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation is Sunday, Jan. 19, 2014, from 5 until 9 p.m. at Brookhaven Funeral Home.
Mr. Lewis, 68, died Thursday, Jan. 16, 2014, at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson. He was born in Franklin County on Sept. 18, 1945, to Sam I. Lewis and Mary C. Lewis.
He was a retired manager from Entergy where he worked for 28 years. He was also a livestock transporter for 10 years for Robert Rawls Livestock. He was a summer league baseball coach. He also raised, trained and showed registered quarter horses.
Preceding him in death were his parents, brother, Samuel William Lewis and wife, Joyce; father-in-law, Sidney Ratcliff; brother-in-law, John M. Laird Jr.; and nephew, Ronald Dewayne Lewis.
Survivors are his wife, Sandra Ratcliff Lewis of Brookhaven; son, Lance Neal Lewis and wife, Christi, of Brookhaven; daughter, Susan Lewis Thames of Brookhaven; grandchildren, Christopher Bilbo, Zach Thames, Nicholas Bilbo, Taylor Lewis; great-grandson, Neal James Thames; brother, George M. Lewis and wife, Valerie, of Cedar Lake, Ind.; sister, Peggy Farlow and husband, Sherman of Sumrall and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
