The Lincoln County and Southwest Mississippi area is under a winter storm warning from 6 a.m. Tuesday until 6 p.m. Tuesday. The winter storm watch previously in effect has expired, and the warning was issued instead.
The National Weather Service in Jackson said the area is expected to see snow and sleet accumulations of 1 to 3 inches. Some freezing rain may be mixed in during the morning, especially in the Highway 98 corridor.
Temperatures are expected to be in the 25 to 31 degree range while precipitation is falling.
A winter storm warning means significant amounts of snow, sleet and ice are expected. Travel conditions will likely be dangerous.
